Directions to campsite
Leave Lusaka on the M9 road to Mongu. After 250 kms and after the second set of speed bumps inside the park, our turning is 2.5 kms after these bumps. Turn right onto the dirt road and continue for 5 kms. Immediately after the “pits”, turn right and continue for 3 kms. If you miss the first turn off on the tar, there is another one about 2 kms further on, turn right, go 2 kms and then turn left when you see our sign, continue down the hill for 3 kms to the camp. Do not pay park fees until you reach the camp, as an officer is in the camp.

Mayukuyuku is a tented bush camp with 4 luxury en-suite tents and with a small campsite across a dry stream. All areas of the camp have river views of different aspects of the Kafue River- some face an island, some face upstream some downstream. Said to be one of the prettiest areas in the Kafue National Park, with rapids and rocky outcrops. Large granite boulders and sandy”beaches”, there is plenty of wildlife and birds all around you all day. In the hotter months the main river dries out and puku, kudu, impala, warthogs and elephants come and drink on these beaches. The river is full of hippos all around us and they do wander around the camp at night. We supply firewood and have staff at hand to assist with lighting fires. Meals can be taken if booked in advance and all safari activities can be found here. We keep a tranquil camp with relaxation and a focus on safari, wildlife and fishing are our main function. Very easy access from Lusaka – bring extra fuel as supplies can be erratic in Zambia and keep topped up at all times. Perfect stop off point for those going on to the Busanga Plains – 5 hours north of us, or Liuwa National Park. We are only 8 kms max from the tar road.
