Comments, Rules and Notes

  • Comments: The game reserve is situated between the border of Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal. The Camping sites in uMkhunyane are idyllic private bush camps, situated on the shores of the Witrivier. The waterholes with their rapids and cascades offers lovely opportunities for swimming and relaxing. No other guests reside during your booking.We want to give people the opportunity to enjoy a private bush camp close to the river, so they can have an exclusive free time close to nature. Encompassing a diversity of eco-systems, uMkhunyane (over 6000ha) offers a large variety of wildlife (49 species), exceptional birdlife (150 species) and 140 species of indigenous trees and shrubs. All this in the beautiful scenery of the valleys of the Pongola and the uMkhunyane rivers. The main entrance is 4.5 km of the popular N2 Sodwana-route and is an ideal sleep over for nature lovers. The Mahamba border post to the Kingdom of Swaziland is merely 15km away from the main entrance. Reservations are necessary!
